Some men just don’t want to do things until they are just ready, maybe lack of know how, laziness, fear of not having it look correct when finished and then the spouse can say I told you so. I know these are all excuses, simple fact is, it should have been addressed when materials and tools were purchased, or just being truth full and say yes my wife you are correct, we should have just cleaned the carpets would have been even easier.

I wanted to spruce up the bathroom by repainting it and getting a new light fixture.

He wanted to repaint, new lighting, add a few outlets by the sink, change the shower head and faucet in the tub, change the faucet in the sink, Take out the TP holder in the wall, I could go on and on.

3 months later I have a half painted bathroom. Mud on the wall filling the hole where the TP holder was, blue tape around the ceiling and no towel racks or bars………. and somehow, it’s my fault that its not all done?

He doesn’t need *** instead he needs you to hire laborers to help him install his little project or better you can help him.

Maybe he’s upset with himself now. Maybe he felt he could take on this project but then realized how big it was going to be once he got started and doesn’t want to admit it. I have done this to myself in the past. It’s not fair for him to take it out on anybody else around him. Maybe it’s not too late to return everything and just have the carpets cleaned. That way you are happy and he is happy cause he doesn’t have to do the work. Even if you lose a little bit of money cause you can’t return everything it might still be worth it. Also, why was it an arguement to begin with? I wouldn’t have done anything until it felt like you both were in agreement cause you both have to live with it once it’s done. Good luck!

Par for the course…people choose to be frugal but just can’t close the deal…happens with do-it-yourselfers all the time. Just offer him extra help where and when you can. If he keeps complaining you can tell him that you’ll happily hire someone to finish the job. That might get him to stop complaining for a short time. Besides - laminate goes in pretty quickly - it’s just the ends and trim that can be tough. Oh well, good luck anyways!

Well the new flooring will be nice but maybe he found out that it it is harder than it looks. If he is getting frustrated about installing the flooring I doubt a *** break is on his mind right now. How about fixing the guy some lunch or maybe…just maybe…help him.
