LMAO, I am not certain, I just send the wife off on a shopping spree for the day and I stay home and do the work. I then get to gloat at my completed project and get a pat on the back from the wife and she was able to spend money. I have noticed that is how we both stay happy, being apart! LOL

try a whole week! We got thru 6 days of what could have been sheer hell but we learned how to deal with each others temperments and areas of control by doing it. phew… 14 yrs. later, Divorced. Oh well. had nothing to do with the renovations!

Yes, It is possible. We have been doing those things since we got this house in June. And we actually get along better than ever.

Yes, because my husband and I can’t agree on anything. Now he makes me do the painting if I don’t like the wall colors. He won’t even help.

LOL!!! You do have a strong marriage if you can survive home improvements together.

Oh yeah!!! My fiance at the time and I built a huge covered deck for my parents while they were out of state. It was during the hot summer months and miserable, hot and sweaty. We got into so many arguments. One time I simply put my hammer down and told him “I quit!” After I cooled down a bit, we got back to work but it was this way for 3 months. The deck turned out beautiful and my parents were so surprised and happy. I told my now husband that I almost divorced over that deck project and we weren’t even married. Ha! Ha! It was a good test of our character and how we’d carry on during hard times.

When the kitchen is unusable for two months and the entire family (five) are sleeping in the living room, it becomes a bit testy. Tell hubby that this is a good time to take that out-of-town assignment that he has been ducking. Lock away all knives and heavy, blunt objects.
