Squidface asked:
They appear to be building a framework for a wall or something. They are setting two by sixes within a large rectangular frame–as they do so, they’re nailing some sort of bracket at the joint where the two by six joins the frame on either side, and at both ends. The carpenter mentions having to “crown this piece first”. Can anyone please tell me if there’s a more specific name for these brackets they’re putting in? I’d just like to sound like I know what I’m talking about when I describe this footage. Thanks!
Sorry, I’m not techno-savvy enough to know how to clip a frame from the video–but these are great suggestions, and far better than what I had!
Based on pictures from the website provided by lostinyonkers, I think perhaps “framing angle”–what say you?
I think it’s the framework for a deck surface.

Without seeing the bracket, I would imagine it’s a joist hanger. It could also be a hurricane strap. Or an L-bracket. Wow, there are a lot. Can you post a picture?
go to it is a builders hardware website. you can find the bracket they were using along with the proper name.
